Safety: Our safety program is oriented to provide education and training to help avoid common workplace accidents. Monthly safety meetings are held throughout the year and weekly “toolbox” meetings are often required as part of our involvement on projects. Safety is our number one priority as our personnel are our most valuable assets.
Benefits: Geocal provides a strong and very competitive benefits package designed to attract and keep the best. Medical, vision, dental and life insurance, education assistance, personal leave and other paid time off, as well as a 401K program and others are included.
Continuing Education/Training: Due to the complex and dynamic nature of the industry, Geocal expects and supports our technical staff to continue their education and training, whether through in-house training to keep up with current test methods and specifications, or with industry seminars reviewing the newest technologies.
Our in-house training program addresses issues ranging from critical safety topics to routine technical issues associated with testing and inspection activities. All new hires are reviewed by their immediate supervisor to assure use of the appropriate procedures and specifications, and familiarity with Geocal standards and policies.
Professional Registrations/Certifications: Geocal believes in obtaining and maintaining professional registrations, certifications, and industry affiliations. The majority of our clients require highly qualified personnel who are certified in accordance with state and national standards.
Field and laboratory personnel are required to obtain the relevant certifications with the American Concrete Institute (ACI), the Western Alliance for Quality Transportation Officials (WAQTC), the Laboratory Certification for Asphalt Technicians (LabCAT), and radiation training for nuclear gauges. In addition to certifications for personnel, Geocal’s materials laboratory is accredited by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO).
Internships: Paid summer internship programs are available to students interested in getting a head start in the engineering industry.
